The Fan

NOTHING in life is easy. That's universal. So being the bargain queen and we seem to be on this theme of "let's fresh up the 16 year old house" I trot over to Home Emporium.I find this great deal on Hunter fans. Now I've always hated the fanlights in our house with 4 lights on them and rather Victorian looking. My Mother reminded me that she was the one to pick them out. Of course. So I come home with this big, bold brushed nickle with BLACK blades fans. Awesome. It's for our kithen. My dear husband jumped right on it yesterday like a good male and promptly opened the box and distributed every piece of the fan on every tabletop available. Then he took a nap and watched T.V....
The next day. With much prodding Zollie got right on the fan project about noon. By 2 he discovered he had to take part of the ceiling out. By 3 he had the wrong screws By 4 he was getting Real frustrated. I went to my art studio. I came downstairs as it was getting dark, walked into the kitchen and behold ,there turning quietly was my HUNTER fan. Except I really couldn't see it. You see, the light source on it holds only two small Christmas lights. Whoops.
My husbands back taking a nap and I'm looking at my fan with a flashlight.Maybe tomorrow I can go to H.E. and find a discount lamp for the kitchen...

The PAINT that got away.

This being the only time of year I have a few days to work on something besides art I gazed up at my light purple with dark green trim 2-story hallway and declared this was the week to step into 2010. I quickly engaged my husband to make this a family project and came home with 1 gallon of Tidewater blue paint. That was 3 weeks ago. After many inventions on how to balance a ladder to reach skylights, MANY gallons of paint later, the hallway is nearly complete. So as I waltzed in the door over the weekend I hear a faint"Need a little help here" coming from the top of the stairs. There stands Zollie{husband} wringing his hands and there lies a complete gallon of white paint blood splattered all over my dark green bedroom carpet. Over bedspread, over cat? White cat{SAM Simpson}jumps off bed, Thru the paint and down the wood stairs leaving paw prints down and across the house. Being the neat freak. I quickly grab my deluxe carpet cleaner and sit it in the pool of paint. I turn it on as it worked for about 15 seconds before it was clogged. I then scream at what I've done. grab the vacuum and race it out the front door dripping more paint thru the house.
It's now a week later as I walk up my beautiful staircase in shades of blue with white trim and Nestle in my luscious new bedroom carpet. Stuff happens, Don't sweat the small stuff. To be continued...Nansi

Let's start out by figuring how to do this for someone who doesn't quite understand what facebook is or why. Twitter? How many times can you text "Hey Man, What's happening?" Whatever happened to picking up the telephone? Most of my friends don"t even have a landline. So I will dutifully turn my dial up on, go eat breakfast and then attempt to amuse.,abuse and just get it off my mind. Working it out...Nansi
